Has anyone had creaks and squeaks from the rear interior of the van? The dealer replaced an internal trinm quarterpanel but its still there..

I know the feeling. I thought I had 1000 angry mice in the back of my van all winter. I was secretly hoping that it was just moisture and that it would go away
this spring, but to no avail. I am going to have to make an appointment with the dealer. Soon! The squeeking is so annoying, I am actually reconsidering my
purchase. I hope that the dealer will be able to "reproduce" the squeak if I'm not there!

Yeah...its not a fun ride in the winter, I live in Florida so most of the time its hotter than the hinges of hell. At least the heat makes everything expand gets rid of the noise. |

yes, I experience the squeaking and it is the most annoying. I have complained about it twice and they greased the rear liftgate pistons.. who knows. I thought
it was going to go away too.
Seems to happen when the temperature drops below 60 and humidity is high. In the winter, it happens all the time. I hate it. any more ideas? |

Speaking with the tech, there isn't a lot of adjustment he can do to the hatch itself. If he were to add washers to tighten up the hatch, it would cause it
to stick out and not be flush with the taillights. They did replace the latch and rear wiper assembly, but my squeaks are still there. Maybe even worse than
before. The dealer ordered some rubberized fabric to put under the trim in the hatch to see if that helps, but I don't really have a lot of confidence in
that. I love my van, but I value my sanity even more.

I found this. Check it out?
http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.f106f4e. I think I'm going to call Todd in NE Hyundai to ask about the "squeak repair kit". |

Good News! | ||
|
After yet another trip to the dealership yesterday, I think I may be on the road to happiness. Ganley Hyundai in Parma, OH let another tech take a whack at my
squeaks and he was the one. The first tech said the latch couldn't be adjusted, so he tried to fix the squeaks by slathering goop and putting
rubberized-felt all over the hatch. That obviously didn't work, so the second tech found a small adjustment to the latch and a small adjustment in the
hinges which eliminated the squeaks. So far. The best part is the adjustments did not affect the alignment of the hatch or the gaps around the hatch.
Hopefully, anyone who has this problem can tell their dealer about my fix and get their squeaks fixed too!

Squeak fix? | ||

I spoke with Roy from Bellevue NE Hyudai. I explained to him that I saw a writeup about his dealership on the internet about resolving the
"squeak" on the Entourage. He is aware of the issue and knows how to silence it.

So Far So Good | ||

So far, so good. We took a 1000 mile trip this past weekend and not a peep from the back hatch. On a side note, I did manage to get 25mpg out of one short
tank on the PA turnpike. I went 151 miles between rest stops on exactly 6 gallons! The rest of the trip was 21-23mpg however.
